Fold the Napkins Twice
Your first step is to get two square napkins of different colors. They must be a good combination in relation to your overall table setting theme. Then place one napkin on top of another perfectly.
Then fold the left edges of the napkins towards the right side. From now on, the pair of napkins will be referred as one.
Then fold the napkin downwards in half. Rotate the napkin 90 degrees clockwise and you are now ready to move to the next steps.
Fold the Bottom Left Corner
Your next goal is to fold the bottom left corners to the top right. There are several layers and each succeeding layer will be farther from the top right corner. Fold the first two layers towards the top right.
Then fold another layer.
Then do the same for the last two layers as well.
Gently flip the napkin to the other side. Good job; now it's time to move to the next steps.
Fold the Left and Right Corners
Rotate the napkin 90 degrees clockwise. Your napkin should now look like the image above.
Roll the left corner towards the middle. It doesn't have to reach the top part though.
Lastly, roll the other side to have a symmetrical napkin. Congratulations! You have made your rolled napkin fold inspired by the famous French pastry.

Extra Tips
- Is the rolled napkin fold not staying in place? Most like the table napkin is not stiff enough especially if you're using a thin piece of cloth, Try using paper napkins instead. You can also starch the cloth napkin to make it stiff. First, wash the cloth napkin as you normally do. Spray it with ready-made starch spray or make your own by mixing starch and water. Evenly spray coat the napkin with starch and then iron the napkin on an ironing board. By the way, if you're planning to starch the napkin, make sure that it's cloth or linen.
- Be precise and focused when folding the napkins. But enjoy the process.
