Introduction:
Using a dollar bill, you can create this marvelous structure with the tutorial below. What’s great about this origami pyramid is that it can stand firmly on its own without tumbling down if you insert a 50-cent coin inside.
Also, you can use a different type of paper but you’ll need one that has the same length-to-width ratio as the dollar bill. Lastly, this fold is a bit long to make and is more challenging than some but with this guide, it’ll still be pretty easy to make.

Fold the top corners
Lay a dollar bill in front of you in portrait. Make sure that you have a table you are comfortable working on.
Fold the dollar bill in half lengthwise.
And then unfold it.
Then fold the dollar bill downwards in half.
Next, fold the top corners towards the middle. Crease it well then unfold.
Fold the money bill like an arrow head
Flip the right side of the top flap to the left part. As you flip it, squash it down.
Squash it to flatten and then turn the left side of the top flap to the right.
Repeat the previous steps on the left side of the dollar bill. Lift the top flap and then squash it down to flatten.
Like flipping a page of the book. Turn the right top flap to the left side. Bring the top left and right corner to the middle. Make sure to fold the outer flap only.
Flip the left outer flap to the right side.
Swing the left edge to the right side.
Again,bring the top left and right corner to the middle. Make sure to fold the outer flap only.
Flip the right top flap to the left side.
Shape the dollar bill into a ribbon
Bring the top flap upwards along 3/4 of the way from the bottom. Make sure to fold the top flap only.
Mountain fold the bottom half of the origami dollar to the top.
Diagonally fold the bottom corners upward. Make sure to fold the top layer only.
Repeat the previous step on this side. Diagonally fold the bottom corners upward. Make sure to fold the top layer only.
Make the origami dollar bill stand upwards from the tip.
Carefully pull apart the top and bottom layers. Keep pulling it apart gently until it looks like the one in the image above.
Make the bottom base of the money origami pyramid
Flip the dollar bill origami to the other side.
Bring the bottom edge upwards.
Fold the top edge downwards.
Make the paper pyramid stable
Flip the dollar bill over to the other side.
To make the money pyramid stable, get a 50 cent coin inside or any small paperweight.
Then insert the 50 cent coin inside.
Secure the coin by folding the right bottom side to the middle then tucking inside.
Repeat the previous step on the other three sides. Tuck the flaps securely. And your origami pyramid is done!

Extra Tips
- Make sure to do your creases and folds properly. Apply enough pressure.
