Introduction:
Making your own jewelry can be quick and easy with this money origami ring. Using a dollar bill, you can create a ring to show your friends and family. It’s definitely a cool trick to learn if you’re a kid. And even if you are an adult this fold is still fun.
If you want different variations of this ring, you may use any pliable piece of paper with the same proportion as a dollar bill. So, it could be a colored construction paper or just plain bond paper.

Create the band of the dollar bill ring
The first thing to do is to lay a dollar bill or a paper of similar dimensions in front of you. Fold a small portion of the top and bottom edge inwards, as shown in the image above. If you’re using a dollar bill, use the white borders as guide where to fold the edges inward.
The next thing to do is to fold and unfold the dollar bill crosswise in half. This will make a crease line guide in the middle.
Then fold the bottom edge towards the middle of the dollar bill like what's show in the image above.
Do the same for the top edge. Fold it towards the middle.
Fold the dollar bill crosswise in half again to make the band slimmer.
Good job! This will be the paper band of the dollar bill ring origami. It's time to move on to the next set of steps.
Make a hook flap for the dollar bill ring origami
Mountain fold a small portion of the left part (the left white border) to the back.
Now this time, mountain fold the left i part of the dollar to the back.
Mountain folds the white border of the left side again, so it forms a hook. If you look at the dollar bill at its side, you should see that the bill's side view looks like the image above.
Diagonally fold the right end strip of the dollar bill like along the dashed line.
Keep in mind that the left side will be the "hook" flap while the right side will be called the end strip.
Roll the right bottom strip to the left.
Continue to roll the end strip it until it forms a circular ring band.
Shape the strip Into a dollar ring
Notice that the hook area has the 1's dollar bill design? Insert the bottom end strip inside it to secure the band.
Bring the bottom end strip to the top.
Unfold the hook flap on top first, then wrap the bottom flap to the band.
Once the end strip is fully wrapped, the last step is to tuck the hook flap again in the end strip to secure it.
Turn it around and the 1 design should be visible.
Your origami dollar ring is done! Experiment with different kinds of paper to make different variations of the ring.

- Don't have a dollar bill on hand? No worries! You can use any paper bill currency you have or available in your country. What's great about most paper money is that it's durable to be folded and turned into anything.
